lol @ Doc.................one positive of being a "real" newbie and entering a tournament without knowing what ya doing, is I learned far more from someone like Mr Wood 'as an example' battering me, watching how he played, than I ever did smashing balls around with someone else ranked 600 odd. just an opinion, it made me a better player (i aint brilliant, but I can hold my own now....to a degree)

That's why old school players, (myself included) dont enter them anymore woody...

They used to be more of an achievement back in the day, considering there were only a handful to join! Now, there is a tourney every what.... 30 minutes? (Not sure if that's correct)

How about we mix it up a bit...

Tournaments stay as they are... but let's say every hour or two there's a tournament exactly like they used to be?

What is people's opinion on that?

Then on your profile you could have:

Tournament wins (Ranked)
Tournament wins (Friendly)
Tournament wins (Old School)

Something like that.

I still want to see a main event tournament each day.

Maybe rotate through the modes each day.

Make a big deal out of it somehow i.e:-

A) Quadruple ranking points
B) Double tournie points
C) Name on homepage for 24 hrs
D) Whatever

Hopefully that would encourage more entries which may in turn encourage the stubborn old school that have given up on tournaments to join. Then we can get proper banter and funky spirit on again.

*Shocked smiley!*

Stubborn... I'd say underwhelmed at winning them. Like i said, some just don't see it as a big thing anymore due to the fact there are so many...

Look at players like bomjaza for instance... he has only achieved the amount of tourney wins due to the new tournament schedule. I'm not taking anything away from him as he had to win the games to do it!

But, with the old schedule i believe he wouldn't have half the tourney wins he has now. Due to the fact you would have the new breed of talent playing, also the old school players like: ste_efc, kaison, ragefire, quick_pot, virtuoso107, myself etc.

tournaments are overrated anyway. A big chunk of the time you're waiting for the other players to finish their frame/s.

played well 1st frame, had an ul in off whilst disturbing reds, then just played horrible. doomslave wasn't at his best either, but finished with a nice century.

Nah brent you take normal muck about frames too seriously

I really don't understand the I can't be bothered to join tournaments mentality.. what on earth is there better to do on here?

Might as well join and put some better players in the mix... When I join em its more about joining other rooms when your games finished, having a laugh and general fun.

you can never take snooker too seriously, try saying that to stephen hendry.

I said why i don't join tournaments a few minutes ago.

If i enjoyed them still i would still play them.

I've done all i've wanted to do on this site, and i need something else to do. Snooker get's boring when 147s don't give you much happiness lol. If you could play for money i'd play all the time though. That's what snooker needs. People are saying snooker's dying . If people knew they could win money playing it online it would raise people's interests and maybe save snooker. But i'm talking at least teh quality gameplay on funky snooker not terrible ones i've played.

And if anything the lack or caring/trying/seriousness costs me the frame more than anything else. I catch myself not trying like i used to especially if no century is on, and in rare cases once the 147 is gone i stop caring and get bored lmao.

Non tournament ranked games are the best because you can play when you want, go to the kitchen or wherever when you want. No forced waiting, and maybe other things but too hungry to expand.

lol @ Doc.................one positive of being a "real" newbie and entering a tournament without knowing what ya doing, is I learned far more from someone like Mr Wood 'as an example' battering me, watching how he played, than I ever did smashing balls around with someone else ranked 600 odd. just an opinion, it made me a better player (i aint brilliant, but I can hold my own now....to a degree)

Completely agree with you there mate, exactly the path I took and im not a bad player now as it goes

deffo mate, trying to replicate a good player, is better than having a game where no one can pot a ball

Hey all,

Looks like a stirred up a little hornets nest here.

I thought forums were to express suggestion on how we could posibily improve or rectify any issues that people have.

If people want to reset their stats crack on, I DID NOT SAY WE SHOULD BAN THEM ..... as In "We Must Do It"

Hey All.

ALSO if you know someone is a resetter why not ban them ???

Well the new account anyway .... force them to continue to use old one

Edited at 11:33 Sun 22/04/12 (BST)

Ban someone for resetting their stats? Lmao! What rule are they breaking there? It's down to the individual what they do with their account. If it wasn't for the reset function, think how many deactivated profile's there would be!!!

If i'm not mistaken, this thread was made by the Lord, power snooker king, the Brazil of snooker & god like supreme player... m_wood (His words, not mine). If that is the status you believe to have then what does it matter if someone has reset and started again? You should beat them anyways Mr. power snooker king! Regardless if they reset or not....

If someone resets their stats. How, when we play them do we know that they have reset their stats.
Why cant there be an addition to their nick like "Welshie (R)".

(R) shows that there stats have been reset. To be honest I dont see why you would want to reset your stats, if they were good stats i would be proud of them, BUT to bo honest my stats are crap, but im happy with them
