i have to agree with seb on this one , really annoys me when people say gg half way through a game , bad sportmanship in my eyes

all people have different views on this tho , so there is never going be a right or a wrong , its down to the individual what they think is right and wrong ,

No I don't Sarah, carom games are so short I don't get time to . If, however, we both make a 5 run or something to get to 5-5 or 6-6, I may say "good standard this game!" or something similar at that point.

Which just shows that it's all about the context! People get put off and very annoyed because they all know what g means. The players use it to put people off in crucial moments of the game. I've never heard of anyone being put off by "ns".

Of course people shouldn't get put off by it, but neither should tennis/golf players by someone yelling in the crowd. The fact is that it does happen to many people, which is why these threads continue to pop up regularly.

There's nothing that can be done other than using the ignore function.

what bout the other games on here adam , you do play them aswell

lots annoys me while i play like gg half way through a game or somebody moaning about how bad there playing or someone giving excuses after every miss they make . thats me tho , everyone has different things they dont like

Each to their own though I suppose, you can't ban people from saying 'gg' in the middle of a game, because it can be meant in both contexts.

It's a game. If you get annoyed by someone typing "gg" before the game has ended then you're a nerdy loser who probably doesn't even know what the world is like outside of your bedroom.

There's nothing emotional about it. I simply stick people on ignore. All I'm saying is that I think it's poor sportsmanship, which exists in all games and sports. My comment was directed towards those that get so frustrated that they feel the need to moan about it on the forums to everyone. So I didn't call you a nerd, or "everyone else" for that matter.

Don't you guys argue when there is a more pressing point at hand. There is a guy here who wants to put everyone on ignore but then creates a thread which he know will get attention so he can let the people he wants to out on ignore know why they are being put on ignore. If "gg" puts you off, i cant imagine what a fly would do flying around the room.

If your more interested in what someone says/types to having fun on here, well i guess this a lost cause.

Seems more people pay attention to what someone says than having fun and enjoying the game.

If want to ignore someone when joining a game click "ignore user".

When you think of all the bad things that happen day in out to people around the world , and tragedies that happen to friends and families , complaining about gg & wp within an online computer game is pathetic in comparison

true but nothing like a good debate. just like the 'random shot', 'gg' is also another popular discussion.

my point of view is 'good game' is meant to be said at the end but i won't use that as an excuse for losing. Most of the time its either lag on one shot or a browser crash.

when someone says 'good game' early i just think to real snooker and think 'what would a real professional do?'. As Seb said though it does add more pressure to clear the table after it has been said, Those who have played me in clan or world tour games will know that i have a lot of pressure (not against guests but good players).

what annoys me more is when someone says 'max' before a red has been potted as that adds even more pressure to make the max.

if someone tries to put me off, i will use ignore button (done it once when someone begged me to let them win, i didn't though) but if i say 'good game' early i apologise to the member straight away as it was unintentional.

before anyone says i take this game seriously i don't but i think those who go for the Day medals each day (especially on dark side) they are the serious ones
